Beacon watches a company’s production systems and opens a fix when something breaks. Incident tools are usually built around alarm: red alerts, sirens and dashboards full of noise. The site needed to show the product working in one real incident, and make a night-time job feel calm and under control.

A signal fire. Beacons were lit from hill to hill to pass a warning through the night. Beacon does the same for a production system: it spots the problem, passes it on and has the answer ready by morning.

Key decisions
01
Calm night scenes
Why
Incident tools tend to use red, flashing and urgent imagery, which adds to the stress of being on call.
Effect
Soft felt hills at night, lit by warm fires, make the product feel like someone keeping watch.
02
One real incident throughout
Why
Claims about faster fixes are easy to make and hard to believe.
Effect
Following a single incident from first alert to the fix going live shows exactly what the product does, minute by minute.
03
Warm fire against a deep night
Why
The story is the moment a problem is spotted and handled in the dark.
Effect
Coral and amber flames against a night sky draw the eye to the product’s key moments, while the light page keeps the interface easy to read.
